The Bad Side of Silent Treatment in Marriage

A man returned home from work and caught his wife in the act with another man in his matrimonial bed. He overlooked the sacrilege and went to the sitting room and put on the TV and started watching some gospel songs.

The wife and the other man in the room became afraid and were trembling in fear and couldn't come out.
Finally, the man summoned up courage and came out and knelt before the husband and pleaded for forgiveness. The husband said to man, "Mr Man, you are free to go your way. Things like this do happen. You're not the author of this kind of situation. So there's no problem. Just go your way."

The man was surprised at hearing that from the woman's husband. Then he stood up and left still in fear. The wife couldn't come out of the bed room because of shame and fear of what the husband would do to her. She remained there till her husband decided to retire to bed.

As the husband got into the bedroom, he saw his wife seated on the floor shedding tears profusely. He ignored her. Mounting on the bed, he covered himself with blankets and slept off.

Unfortunately, when the husband woke up in the morning, he found his wife lying dead on the floor. She had committed suicide in the middle of the night.

Consequently, the husband was jailed for 20 years over a crime he did not commit.

Moral Lesson: Though silence is said to be golden, it could also be disastrous at times. Silent treatment in marriage is hazardous. Matters should be settled as fast as possible and not be overlooked to avoid complications.
